Imagine a spot deep in the forests of the Adirondacks, five or six miles from the nearest railroad point, not served by roads except for the rough lumbering roads, and with no settlement and no facilities for working.  That is what Newton Falls was like before the Newton Falls Paper Company came along.  The Paper Mill provided a great boon to the community and to the economy of the area.
