HAVE NO FEAR
Why are you surprised?
I thought you realized
That I’d do almost anything for you.
I heard your frightened voice
And I really had no choice.
Anything that hurts you hurts me, too.
You and I are one,
And what we have become,
Passing time can never break apart.
And so I must defend
My very dearest friend.
Whatever breaks your spirit breaks my heart.
When you feel afraid
I will comfort you.
When you stand accused
I will stand by you.
If I do you wrong
I will cry for you.
If it spared your life
I would die for you.
Maybe now you see
How much you mean to me,
And why I am so loyal and so true.
As soon as I was grown
I faced the world alone.
I will not let the same fate fall on you.
