Richard Laurin
Camp Consultant Gizelle LaRose Director Dodge Pond, Inc.'s camping season begins on the week of June 16th, 2003 and ends on the week of August 9th, 2003. Richard Laurin, former St. Lawrence NYSARC, Inc.'s Executive Director, returns as Camp Consultant with first-time Director, Gizelle LaRose. Both look forward to another exciting season for the summer of 2003. Dodge Pond provides tenting or lodge accommodations. The main lodge is a two-story facility with the first floor designed for campers who use wheelchairs or have ambulation challenges. There are enough bunks in the lodge for twenty-two campers to sleep comfortably. Each counselor is assigned specific campers and provides twenty-four hour care. Within easy access to the main lodge are four tenting campsites. Each tent is equipped with metal bed frames, mattresses, and a chest of drawers. Individual ambulatory and non-ambulatory showers and toilets are available in the lodge, as well as "outside toilets" for convenience near the campsites. Included in the main lodge are the health lodge, dining facilities, camp office space and lounge area for rainy days. A fully equipped commercial kitchen provides hot, nutritious meals and picnic lunches served in a cafeteria style setting. We can prepare meals for specialized diets. Our dining facilities are fully compliant with State Department of Health regulations. Make your reservations early because space is limited. Prior to coming to camp you will need a completed application and a physical exam dated within the past year. There is a $25 nonrefundable application fee. If you are a new camper, a pre-application needs to be completed and accepted before reservations are made. |
