LET LOVE FIND YOU
Love is such a precious thing;
We long to know it well.
We want love more than anything,
More than words can tell.
But before we stand together
We must learn to stand alone.
We must be secure within ourselves
For love to find a home.
It is scary to be single now,
More than it used to be.
We once made love more loosely
And we thought that we were free.
But now the rules are different;
We can pay too high a price.
We all must be more careful;
One mistake can take your life.
Lead me not into temptation,
But save me from the danger
Of looking to find love
In the arms of a stranger.
If I don’t know a thing about you,
Or even know your name,
I am flirting with destruction
Like a moth too near a flame.
I don’t mean to discourage love;
I only want it known
That you must accept no substitutes,
You’re better off alone.
You cannot love until you’re free
Of all the things that bind you.
It does no good to look for love;
You must let love find you.
