ANCESTRY OF LOUIS LEE SHARROCK

Previous census records confirm that Joseph Emmons was Mary Lee’s father.
Joseph Emmons (born c. 1782) and his wife Judith (born c. 1785) can be
traced back through the census records. In 1860 they were living in
Hamilton Township, Atlantic County, New Jersey with Judith Peterson (age 14)
and Edward Bailey (age 54). In 1850 they were living in Hamilton Township
with no boarders. In 1840 they were living in Hamilton Township; also
listed as heads of households were James Emmons and Washington Emmons. In
1830 they were living in Downe, Cumberland, New Jersey with a boy under five
years of age, and a girl between 5 and 9 (that would be Mary, born c. 1821).

Likewise, David Lee (born c. 1841) and his wife Mary (born c. 1821) can be
traced back through the census records. In 1860 they were living in
Hamilton Township, Atlantic County, New Jersey with seven children. The
three oldest (John, Keziah, and Benjamin) do not appear in this household in
the 1870 census, as is to be expected, as they were 29, 26 and 22 in 1870.

In 1850, David and Mary Lee were living in Galloway Township, Atlantic
County, New Jersey with six children, two of whom do not appear in this
household in the 1860 census: Sarah, the oldest, aged 11 in 1850; and Ann
Eliza, aged 5 in 1850. At first glance one might assume that Ann Eliza died
young. But according to the Mormon website, Eliza Ann Lee married Thomas
Hines on 19 August 1860 in Union Township, Camden, New Jersey (at age 15).

Atlantic, New Jersey with his wife (aged 20 to 30) and one child, a
daughter, under 5 years old. This is consistent with the 1850 census.
